Sound of the Film

The process for editing my sound has been fairly simple thankfully. The majority of my opener has music playing over it, with occasional diegetic sound playing in the form of the microwave closing, or silverware clanging. I used an app called CapCut to help me put both the audio and video together, it is a pretty easy program and I've used it in the past to help me with projects. I first mute all the clips I've added, than I go through the video and turn up the volume on certain clips, but just enough where you can hear the sound, but not for example the wind blowing into the mic. It has been kind of hard to balance both the diegetic and non-diegetic sound but it has been smooth so far.

I chose to have music play over the opener for several reasons. First, to help add to the atmosphere of the video. I feel it would help contribute to creating a sense of melancholy and would be much more beneficial than just letting the background & diegetic sound fill the entire project. I also chose to do this because since I am only recording with my phone, no tri-pod or mics, the audio quality is not going to be the best and will be inconsistent. The music will cover that up! I was hoping that maybe I could find some sort of mic to help me with problems like that but it's no worries.
