Color Use
The color in my project changes from the beginning clips from when the clips are set outside, to when the man enters into his house. Outside, the colors are bright and the trees are swaying, the sun is shining and the leaves are falling. However, inside, once I finish filming the rest of the clips, I want to filter them so that they convey a dull, gloomy tone. It will be much more greyer and maybe have a hint of blue to further contribute to that. I hope that this conveys a contrast between the state of what the man may portray outside of his home (bright, sunny), to what he actually feels when he goes inside (sad, miserable).
The costuming of the man is also very basic and is not flashy in color. He has khaki pants, black shoes, a blue button up-collared shirt, a black belt, and a black briefcase. I chose these colors in order to show the viewer that the man wants to appear as nothing out of the ordinary, and someone that blends into his environments. If I wanted the opposite, I probably would have dressed him in colors such as yellow, red, or green. Inside of the home, I also want the lighting to be dim to further convey the melancholic tone I want to have in the project. It has been interesting experimenting with different ideas and learning more about how much of a role color can play in film.
