Preparing to Film
Now that I've finished my storyboard, the only thing left is to prepare to film my opening. My filming process is kind of simple but I hope once I put it together that it will flow nicely and look like how I wanted it too.
Actors:
Since my film only has one character, I will be using my brother to film my project. He's helped me with previous videos and has taken this class in the past, so I feel like he'd be an okay pick. His acting skills might be off but he'll be able to do the job.
Costumes:
The costume for this film will most likely be a collared, button up shirt and some form of dress pants in order to convey a typical work outfit. I'll also try to add some accessories such as a briefcase or a watch to make it more authentic. I know my brother owns a lot of both of the pants and the shirt, so I'll be able to do this component with ease.
Locations:
The locations for my opening will just be in front of my house, in the driveway area/cul-de-sac, and inside my house. Specifically the kitchen and living room.
Dates and Times:
Me and my brother will most likely film on weekend days, such as Fridays and Saturdays. Its flexible for both of us and gives us more time to film each day since it's on the weekend, and it removes stress from worrying about school the next day.
Scripts:
My opening doesn't have any dialogue, so there won't be anything in the script except where to go or what to grab. However, I will be putting music in the background and keep some background noise so there isn't just silence the whole time.
Film Equipment:
For filming equipment, I'm thinking of buying a mini tripod or a stand so I can have the camera be steady, instead of being held by abnormally shaky hands. I'll also try to find or buy something that can help with lighting and maybe a mic of some sort so the sound quality can improve from the phone's default one.
