Movie Analysis - Us
I watched a movie called "Us", which came out in 2019 and was directed by Jordan Peele, who made other notable movies like "Get Out" and "Nope". It was a great thriller/horror movie that I recommend to anyone who thinks they would be interested in it. There were several different scenes which stood out to me that I'd like to talk about in this blog.
First, I have this scene of the 4 antagonists of the movie holding hands, standing outside of the protagonist's home. It gave me an ominous feeling, especially since the music in this scene added to the creepiness. This scene also stayed on this shot for an uncomfortable amount of time. I notice that the angle of this scene is kind of a subtle low angle. This made them look more powerful and terrifying and added to the overall unnerving feeling I got from this shot.
The next scene that stuck with me was this close up shot of the main antagonist. She has a weird, sinister look on her face, which makes her look a bit insane. I feel the close-up shot made the scene more eerie as she's right in the audience's face and you can really see all her emotions and get a better look at her facial expression, especially through her eye's. She looks like she's happy but still want's to evoke fear.
